My previous post, if you missed it, was about car spots in Hyderabad:

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Now here is Part II, car spots from New Delhi , the capitol of India.

Here we have a Chevrolet Sail LS, which was also offered in parts of East Asia and South America.

Kinja'd!!!

Here is a Hyundai i10 Asta. Not sure about the Asta name, but the i10 hatchback was also offered in the European market.

Kinja'd!!!

Next up is a previous gen Honda City with i-VTEC badging. It’s a sedan that slots in below the Civic, like I mentioned in Part I (which was of a previous gen). It’s interesting, because I think this could work in the US and Canada to compete with subcompact sedans like the Versa, Fiesta, Yaris, etc. don’t you think? Google it, the latest gen should’ve been the Fit sedan.

Kinja'd!!!

Honda Accord 2.4 i-VTEC. BUSINESS ACCOUNTS! Why doesn’t ours say i-VTEC on the back?

Kinja'd!!!

Maruti Suzuki 800 AC. This ended production after 30 years!

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Maruti Suzuki Zen LX with some battle scars. Based on the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , the first generation Maruti Zen was introduced in 1993. This thing ran until 2006.

Kinja'd!!!

Maruti Suzuki Swift DZIRE LDi. Essentially a Suzuki Swift sedan with a shortened trunk to fit into a favorable tax bracket.

Kinja'd!!!

Mahindra Scorpio s10, one of the better Indian made SUVs. Sticker reads “LIVE YOUNG, LIVE FREE” lol. This was taken waiting at the toll booths along the Yamuna Expressway, which is used to get from New Delhi to Agra if you want to see the Taj Mahal.

Kinja'd!!!

Ford Figo TDCi hatchback. Sold from 2010-2015 based on the 5th gen Ford Fiesta hatchback that ran from 2002-2008 in Europe. This was also offered in Mexico, Middle East, and South Africa. In front of that is a Toyota Etios hatchback, I believe.

Kinja'd!!!

Hindustan Ambassador Classic 1800 ISZ, which was licensed off the 1950s British Morris Oxford and sold for at least 50 years! I’ve noticed on Flickr that some import these into the UK. I’d love to import one from perhaps the UK to drive through the South Asian part of town!

This was the van we rode in on the way back to the airport towards New Delhi, Maruti Suzuki Eeco Star, which is based on an 80s Suzuki van. It’s funny, because I think we were traveling at 100-120 km/h on the expressway and the driver had to slow down to 80 for the transitions on the bridges, because it was just way too bouncy over those. Sorry excuse of transport, this van. And as Richard Hammond demonstrated, don’t try the Scandanavian flick on these types of vans.

Of course I spot the same 3er as mine, except this was black. Also drove like a dick, as expected.

Kinja'd!!!

Honda Accord 2.4 i-VTEC in New Delhi Indian gov’t area. Still expensive for middle class Indians. Traffic was backed up here, because some important person or politician was leaving their home with an escort. It’s like India’s D.C.

Kinja'd!!!

Also spotted what appears to be military personnel in their vehicles.

Anyone can name these medical unit military trucks?

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Another vehicle filled with servicemen, a Maruti Suzuki Gypsy. It’s a serious 4x4 based on the long wheelbase Suzuki Jimny SJ40/410 series. Also sold in New Zealand as the Suzuki Farm Worker.

Kinja'd!!!

Finally, we have a Hindustan Ambassador Classic 1800 ISZ entering a roundabout, a very classic British scene. Bet the person in the back was drinking chai (tea) too! This looks like the last version before it was discontinued.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

That’s all I spotted!

One of my favorite cars that I did not manage to spot was the Fiat Punto. I’ve seen the basic version on the streets as well as an Abarth version. I would daily one so bad!

Kinja'd!!!

Thanks for looking!

I might have seen the first one. Are those taxis in Mumbai? Some of those you posted, are they based on LADAs?
